Video Rebels (in the age of radical convenience)

We are accepting submissions for a small stream within the festival: short documentaries on local issues by local filmmakers. Maximum length is 5 minutes, both video and film will be accepted. Submission deadline is September 15, 2004. Chosen works will be screened during the festival. Submissions should be sent, on VHS or DVD, to:

Call for Entries

We are now accepting submissions for the 23rd Annual Global Visions Film Festival, which runs from November 3-7, 2004 in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. GVFF presents documentary films and videos which act as catalysts for reflection, discussion, and inspiration.

Deadline for submissions is July 31, 2004. Submissions should be on VHS or Region 1 DVD, in NTSC format; in English, or with English subtitles. There is a $25 submission fee. Shipping costs for submissions must be paid by the applicant.

Submissions will be viewed by the GVFF programmer and/or programming committee. Applicants will be notified by mid-September if their work has been selected. GVFF will send detailed shipping instructions to the print suppliers of selected works. For exhibition purposes, GVFF will require a 35mm or 16mm print of selected films, or a BetaSP or Region 1 DVD (in NTSC format) of selected videos. Exhibition copies should be in English, or have English subtitles

On Wednesday, May 19th, the Global Visions Festival Society held their Annual General Meeting, at which two new board members were elected. So here is our new board:
