Description
A poignant verité documentary set in post-Katrina New Orleans, Kamp Katrina follows Ms. Pearl, a New Orleans native who converts her backyard into a tent city where 14
displaced, low-income people live for six months as they and the city struggle in the aftermath of both a natural disaster and the breakdown of social order.
The situation gradually goes violently awry and an incredible story emerges as Ms. Pearl and the residents of Kamp Katrina, confronted with limited resources, no housing
and no governmental support, struggle with the desperation of their situation, the ghosts of their pasts and one another as they try to put their lives and the city back together in
the most daunting of circumstances.
